How can it be fun and easy?
This question was posed to me earlier this week and I've been thinking about it ever since. You see, it's been a busy and chaotic few weeks. In fact, April was a bit of a blur. And now, at the start of May, I find myself not feeling particularly energized or motivated.
I've been caught up in the doing, in the checking items off the lists, on the running from one place to the next and, as I write, am feeling a wee bit fried. Have you ever felt this way?
Things I usually love doing have felt heavy. Underwhelming. Even boring.
How can it be fun and easy?
A simple question. A reframe. A shift in perspective.
I'm not talking about faking it. I'm not talking about plastering a smile on your face and telling everyone around you that things are fantastic. I'm not talking about pretending that life is all roses and sunshine.
It's about pausing for a brief moment in the midst of the overwhelm to ask how can it be fun and easy. It's about shifting my energy during a busy season.
Can my "to-do" list become a "get-to-do" list?
What can I simplify so that what IS on my list is fun?
Pausing to look at life through a different lens reminds me of what is important and allows the noise to fade away.
Asking how I can make things fun and easy has helped me move through the overwhelm this week.
If it helped me, maybe it might help you too?
Tell me, when life feels overwhelming how do you reset?
Walking forward with gratitude,
Sarah
