π± the september rush
relying on a stable foundation and pockets of quiet during a busy few weeks
Hi, my friend,
As we close in on the final days of September I am feeling admittedly a little fatigued.
It's been a glorious few weeks of connection and inspiring conversations. Of celebrations and fun. Of making big decisions and looking to the future. Of love and joy.
Life has been full in the best of ways but I find myself craving a little white space at the moment. A wee pause. For me, it's that delicate dance of a packed calendar and retreating to reset.
I used to obsess over the idea of balance. That I'd have the busy days followed by quiet. That I'd flow through the week never feeling tired or overwhelmed because Iβd found the right schedule for me. But, balance, as I have learned, isn't real life. There are going to be seasons of busy and seasons of quiet. That's just how she rolls.
There is no magic formula. Merely an awareness to know that when life is running at a faster speed it's the consistent things I do each day that keep me on track. That keep me from crashing. Things like moving my body, what I eat, how much I sleep and connecting with my husband and boys. Sure there are nights when I might get to bed later or I ate like crap but I'll adjust the next day.
The calendar might be busy but prioritizing a strong foundation is what keeps me going.
This weekend is a mix of connection and reset. Iβm excited to be facilitating a workshop tomorrow as part of a women's health seminar where we will be reflecting on how we start or end our day.
Then, on Sunday, a day of reset. A walk in the morning, some grocery shopping and floors to sweep, and I'm looking forward to spending some time creating in the kitchen. No major plans. Just unscheduled time and space.
Tell me, how are you feeling as September comes to a close? What do you do consistently each day when life gets busy? I'd love to know.
With gratitude, always β¦
Sarah
PS - Might try to recreate a yummy salad bowl I had from Drink Juice Co earlier this week. Mint and dill seemed to be the secret ingredients. Yum!
