Walking Forward turns three!
more life, more chapters, more books to be written by me (and you too!)
It’s been three years since Walking Forward, my first book baby, launched into the world. It feels like it was just yesterday.
As I held the book in my hands this week, I recalled that I’ve described Walking Forward to others as a book about how I’ve used the power of habit to navigate chaotic times in life. Which is true! But as I turned the pages and read bits and pieces again, I remembered that, to me, Walking Forward is so much more than just a book about habits.
It’s pieces of my heart and soul forever preserved on the page.
Writing Walking Forward gave me the space to explore stories from my earliest days, times of transition and seemingly everyday moments. The process of writing, the physical act of putting pen to paper and hands on the keyboard, taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible. It became a way to see how the puzzle pieces of life all fit together. Of my life. Of my story.
Walking Forward forever changed me.
Three years since publication, and even longer since many of those stories were penned, I revisit the pages with a curious lens. What still feels true to me today? What has changed? What do I know now that I didn’t before? What questions raised in Walking Forward am I still asking myself?
Walking Forward was a space to reflect on life and find clarity in unexpected ways. It was a place to share my perspective and experience. It’s a legacy that will last forever.
There’s more life, more chapters, more books to be written. Writing my story has taught me to ask questions differently and see the world through a lens of curiosity and wonder. I’ve learned to find the extraordinary in what might seem like an ordinary life.
All of us have stories worth writing. Some will become books and be shared with others, some quiet letters written only to ourselves. Regardless of the form, putting pen to paper reminds us of the wonder of our lives. That how we move through this world matters.
It’s as simple as starting with one blank piece of paper, one word, one story at a time.
If you haven’t read Walking Forward, you can find out more here and read or listen via Amazon. And, if you are local, you can order a signed copy directly through me. I’d be forever grateful.
Have you ever thought about writing stories from your life? I’d love to know.
With gratitude always,
Sarah
